Anthony Theatre presents Grand Lil Opry

Oct 7 2017 - 7:00pm

“Grand Lil’ Opry” coming soon to Anthony Theatre

The great and hidden talents of the when the “Grand Lil’ Opry” arrives on Saturday  October 7, 2017.  The theatre committee began coordinating this event in February of 2017 when  the committee members met to reveal new ideas for the calendar year.  When the idea of holding a Grand Lil’ Opry was mentioned it met with great enthusiasm from the committee.   And since that time monthly Opry planning meetings have been held and with each meeting new ideas and excitement grew.   Contacts were quickly made to local artists who the committee felt would enjoy bringing their ‘yesterday western musical selections’ back to reality.  We have found that all ages were more than willing to accept our invitation to perform and from this one of the greatest evenings to come to the Theatre will be happening .   We have appreciated the cooperation we have received from these performers as they are also looking forward to being on stage at the Theatre to bring back the western  musical memories of yesterday.

You will also be entertained with  a surprise of unique sounds as the production opens, followed by a fast paced musical number from a local artist.   The Master of Ceremonies and his associate will keep you wondering what is next.    Through our Opry planning meetings we have discovered the hidden talents of our committee members  and for the first time in the history of Anthony, these performers will be entertaining the audience.

You will also be greeted by a cast of local western characters.  Even the Badman Sherriff  will be on the lookout for a notorious wanted character.  The committee will be decorating the theater  to make your evening one to remember and enjoy.

So for now mark your calendars for October 7,2017, 7:00 pm  to come and enjoy the wonderful talents of 16 and more  local performers.  Remember some are performing for the first time and others will be on stage to perform the memorable musical hits of famous yesterday western artists.   We hope to see you in the near future for an evening to remember at the Anthony Theatre when the curtain opens on the first time ever, “Grand Lil” Opry.
